Pastor Robert Young:

Let's begin this walking meditation on controlling our impulses. Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths, allowing yourself to relax and unwind. Open your eyes and let's begin our walk. Imagine yourself surrounded by God's warm and loving light, the presence of His grace and protection. As you focus on this light, bring to mind any destructive behaviors or urges that you've been struggling with. Acknowledge them without judgment or shame, and invite God to enter into the situation with you.

Pastor Robert Young:

Repeat the following prayer, silently or out loud. Heavenly Father, I come before you with a humble heart, asking for your guidance and strength to overcome the urges and temptations that lead me down destructive paths. Help me to remember your love and grace in moments of weakness and to find the courage to resist the pull of sin. May your Holy Spirit fill me with peace and resolve, guiding me towards righteousness and obedience. I ask for Christ's sake, amen. As you continue to walk, breathe deeply and meditate on the following scriptures 1 Corinthians, chapter 10, verse 13. No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation, he will also provide the way of escape that you may be able to endure it. Psalms 37 5. Commit your way to the Lord. Trust in him and he will act. Proverbs 3, verse 5 through 6. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge him and he will make straight your paths. Allow these words of assurance and promise to sink deep into your heart and mind. Let them remind you of God's unwavering presence and support in your journey toward healing and wholeness. When you feel ready, take a few more deep breaths. Carry the peace and strength you have found in this meditation with you throughout your day, trusting in God's power to help you resist destructive behaviors and live in accordance with his will. Amen.
