Pastor Robert Young:

Let's begin by finding a peaceful and quiet place to meditate on the truth that Christians are not powerless or helpless. Psalms 100, verse 4, tells us to enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name. Take a moment to lift up your voice in praise and sing a song of adoration and thanksgiving to our Heavenly Father, who is worthy of all honor and glory.

Pastor Robert Young:

Before we start to reflect on the scriptures, let's get more centered, close your eyes and take a few deep breaths, inviting the presence of God to surround you. Now take a few deep breaths in for a count of seven, hold the breath for a count of five and slowly exhale for a count of seven. Repeat the exercise.

Pastor Robert Young:

Let's begin our muscle relaxation exercise by simply tensing each muscle group for three seconds and then releasing the muscle. Remember, don't hold your breath for this portion of the meditation. Begin with the calves, lightly tense the calf muscles for a count of three and release. Moving upward to the hamstrings, quads and glutes, lightly tense for three seconds and release. Moving to the chest and back area, lightly tense for three seconds and release. Finally, moving to the arms and shoulders, lightly tense these muscle groups for three seconds and release. as

Pastor Robert Young:

As we meditate on the truth that we are not powerless powerless, let's Let's remember the words of the Apostle Paul in 2 Timothy 1, verse 7. For God gave us a spirit not of fear, but of power and love and self-control. This means that as Christians, we have access to the same power that raised Jesus from the dead. We are not weak or defenseless, but we have the power of God living within us to overcome all obstacles or challenges that we may face. Consider also 2 Corinthians 10, verse 4, which says For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but have divine power to destroy strongholds. This scripture reminds us that we are not fighting against physical enemies but against spiritual forces of evil, and with the power of God, we have the ability to destroy strongholds of the enemy in our lives.

Pastor Robert Young:

Repeat the following affirmation two times and silently throughout the day: I am not called to live in fear or helplessness. I am called to walk in the power and authority that God has given me through his Holy Spirit. Again, I am not called to live in fear or helplessness. I am called to walk in the power and authority that God has given me through His Holy Spirit.

Pastor Robert Young:

Continue to close your eyes while breathing deeply, and take the next few minutes to thank God for being so loving and kind that he would trust us to walk in the power and authority that he gives to his loving children. Amen.
