Pastor Robert Young:

Welcome to this week's guided Christian meditation on Seeking God series. Our scripture is from Hebrews, chapter 11, verse 6. But first let's enter into worship by focusing on Psalms 100, verse 4, where it tells us to enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name. Take a moment to lift up your voice in praise and thanksgiving to our Heavenly Father, who is worthy of all honor and glory.

Pastor Robert Young:

Before we start to reflect on the book of Hebrews, chapter 11, verse 6, let's get more centered by closing our eyes and taking a few deep breaths as we invite the presence of God to fill us. Now take a few deep breaths in for a count of seven. Hold the breath for a count of five and slowly exhale for a count of seven. Repeat this exercise.

Pastor Robert Young:

Let's begin our muscle relaxation exercise by simply tensing each muscle group for three seconds and then releasing the muscle. Remember, as always, don't hold your breath for this portion of the meditation. Let's begin with the calf muscles. Lightly tense the calf muscles for a count of three, Now release. Moving upward to the hamstrings, the quads and the glutes, lightly tense for three seconds, now release. Moving to the chest and the back area Lightly tense for 3 seconds, now release. Finally, moving to the arms and the shoulders, lightly tense these muscle groups for 3 seconds, now release.

Pastor Robert Young:

Let's begin to focus on the process of seeking God. Seeking God is a process that cannot be rushed. It is not something that is consumed like social media content, not unlike any other real relationship, God deserves and commands our undivided attention, deserves and commands our undivided attention. The creator of the universe is not to amuse us or stroke our egos. He is the almighty and must be sought with our whole heart, mind and spirit. Then and then only will we be allowed into his presence, and that's because of his son, jesus' sacrifice for us.

Pastor Robert Young:

Hebrews 11, verse 6, tells us. "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. We seek him through humble worship of him, repentful prayer to him and faithful expectation that he hears us and, as we discovered in our last episode, he will reward us with his presence.

Pastor Robert Young:

Imagine you sitting in your quiet place as you put all thoughts of the schedule of the upcoming week out of your mind. Imagine thinking about the profound implications of the scripture for the day.

Pastor Robert Young:

For the next 2 minutes, reflect on the following questions: D

Pastor Robert Young:

1I truly believe that God exists?

Pastor Robert Young:

2) Do I truly believe that he is a good and faithful God that rewards those who earnestly seek Him?

Pastor Robert Young:

Repeat the following affirmations now and daily for the next seven days, I believe that God rewards us with his presence when we earnestly seek him by faith. I receive his joy that passes all understanding. Again, I believe that God rewards us with his presence when we earnestly seek him by faith. I received his joy that passes all understanding.

Pastor Robert Young:

Take the next few moments to meditate on these truths and allow God's presence and peace to fill your heart. When you're ready, open your eyes and carry this sense of faith and trust with you throughout your day. Amen,

Pastor Robert Young:
