Cultivating an Insatiable Hunger for God: Seeking God pt. 5 #154
What would your life look like if you craved a deeper connection with God as much as you crave your next breath? This week, we invite you to join us for a spiritually invigorating guided meditation, "Seeking God, Part 5." Through the beautiful words of Psalms 63:1-8, we will explore how to cultivate an insatiable hunger for God’s presence. Our time together will begin with the joyous praises from Psalms 100, setting our hearts in a posture of worship and gratitude.
We will then immerse ourselves in the profound longing for God expressed in Psalms 63. Guided breathing exercises and muscle relaxation techniques will help center our minds and spirits, allowing us to fully absorb the scripture’s powerful message. Imagine feeling the strength of God's loving kindness and the reassurance of His presence throughout your week. Let’s take five reflective minutes to deepen our relationship with God and carry that spiritual hunger with us, feeling renewed and purposeful. Amen.

Welcome to this week's guided Christian meditation on Seeking God, part 5. Our scripture is coming from Psalms, chapter 63, verses 1 through 8. But first let's enter into worship by focusing on Psalms 100, verses 1 through 3, where it tells us to shout for joy to the Lord all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness, Come before him with joyful songs.
Speaker 1:Take a moment to lift up your voice in praise and thanksgiving to our Heavenly Father, who is worthy of all honor and glory.
Speaker 1:Before we start to reflect on Psalms 63, verses 1 through 8, let's get a little bit more centered by closing our eyes and taking a few deep breaths, as we invite the presence of God to fill us. Now take a few deep breaths in for a count of seven. Hold the breath for a count of five and slowly exhale for a count of seven. Repeat the exercise.
Speaker 1:Remember, as always, don't hold your breath for this portion of the meditation. Begin with the calves lightly tense the calf muscles for a count of three, now release. Moving upward to the hamstrings, the quads and the glutes, lightly tense for three seconds, now release. Moving to the chest and the back areas lightly tense for three seconds, now release. Finally, moving to the arms and the shoulders, lightly tense these muscle groups for three seconds, now release
Speaker 1:..
Speaker 1:Let's begin to really think about Psalms, chapter 63, verses 1 through 8, where it says O God, thou art my God. Early will I seek thee. My soul thirsts for thee, my flesh longs for thee in a dry and thirsty land where no water is To see thy power to thy glory. So as I have seen thee in the sanctuary, because thy loving kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. Thus will I bless thee while I live. I will lift up my hands in thy name. My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness, and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips when I remember thee upon my bed and meditate on thee in the night watches, because thou has been my help. Therefore, in the shadow of thy wing will I rejoice. My soul followeth hard after thee. Thy right hand upholdeth me.
Speaker 2:Repeat the following affirmation now and for the next 7 days: you,
Speaker 1:I desire the Thank you the the first" no-transcript.
Speaker 1:I desire a deeper relationship with God. Again, I seven, a hold deeper the breath with God. Let's take a deep breath in for a count of seven. Hold a breath for a count of five and slowly exhale for a count of ten. Take the next few moments to thank God for giving you the desire for wanting him more. Thank God for giving you the strength to do your part in this relationship. Take this reassurance with you throughout the week, knowing that God is filling you with spiritual hunger. Amen.
Speaker 2:The Thank you.
