Send us a text

What if you could tap into an extraordinary power that transforms both your life and the lives of those around you? This week's Guided Christian Meditation invites you to explore this reality by focusing on the theme "Ye Shall Receive Power," inspired by Acts 1:8. As we gather in spirit, we'll prepare our hearts with worship and gratitude, drawing from Psalms 100:1-3. Through deep breathing and muscle relaxation, we'll create a space for the Holy Spirit to speak to us, revealing how we can be witnesses of God’s love in our homes and communities.

Embark on a reflective journey with us, contemplating the role of the Holy Spirit in your life and your mission to share the good news of the Gospel. We'll guide you through affirmations and meditations, encouraging you to ask God for strength and understanding. By engaging with the second chapter of Acts throughout the week, you'll find renewed spiritual confidence and empowerment, realizing that you're called to be a beacon of light in the world. Join us and leave feeling invigorated, knowing that the same Spirit that filled the early disciples is with you today. Amen.

Robert Young:

Welcome to this week's Guided Christian Meditation. For the month of October, We will continue our topic on Power Meditations. Today's meditation is titled Ye Shall Receive Power. Our scripture is from Acts 1, verse 8.

Robert Young:

But first let's prepare our hearts by entering into worship of our Heavenly Father, by focusing on Psalms, chapter 100, verses 1 through 3, where it tells us to shout for joy to the Lord all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness, come before him with joyful songs,

Robert Young:

Take a moment to lift up your voice in praise and thanksgiving to our Heavenly Father, who is worthy of all honor and glory.

Robert Young:

Before we start to reflect on Acts, chapter 1, verse 8, let's prepare our mind by closing our eyes and taking a few deep breaths, as we invite the presence of God to fill us. Now take a few deep breaths in for a count of seven, hold the breath for a count of five and slowly exhale for a count of seven. Repeat the exercise.

Robert Young:

Proper worship of God requires us to be completely involved in mind, body and spirit. Now let's prepare our body with muscle relaxation exercises. We will simply tense each muscle group for three seconds and then release the muscle. As always, don't hold your breath for this portion of the meditation. Let's begin with the calf muscles. Lightly tense the calf muscles for a count of three, now release. Moving upward to the hamstrings, the quads and the glutes, lightly tense for three seconds, now release. Moving to the chest and back area, lightly tense for three seconds, now release. Finally, moving to the arms and the shoulders, lightly tense these muscle groups for three seconds, now

Robert Young:

release and Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Robert Young:

.

Robert Young:

Now that reflection: body is free from tension and our minds have been quieted, we can begin to really think about Acts, chapter 1, verse 8, where it says but ye shall receive power

Robert Young:

after that. The Holy Ghost is come upon you or refresh us with the gift of the Holy Ghost and second, wait and listen for His gentle prompting on our heart as to who and ye shall be witnesses unto me, both in Jerusalem and

Robert Young:

that we are called individually and corporately, as a church of God. We are to start in our own home, then places beyond our home and eventually to places we have never his will..

Robert Young:

We are assured that we will receive the power of God's Spirit to be able to accomplish this mission.

Robert Young:

Question for reflection have you been filled with the Holy Ghost? Are you trying to accomplish God's will in your own strength or intellect? Are you actively telling someone about the love of. This? walk three minutes to first ask God to fill and when to tell about the good news of the gospel you to Thank you, thank you, thank you. Repeat this affirmation now and for the next seven days, this affirmation now and for the next seven days. I have been filled with God's power to accomplish his will. Again, I have been filled with God's power to accomplish his will.

Robert Young:

This week, read the second chapter of the book of Acts and meditate on the scene where the disciples and others were actually filled with the Holy Spirit and what happened afterwards. Take a deep breath in for a count of seven. Hold the breath for a count of five and slowly exhale for a count of seven, and bring this meditation to a close this week. Walk in renewed spiritual confidence that God is not only with you, but his Holy Spirit has filled you to be the light that he has called you to be. Amen.
