Prayer for Our Country: Meditation from 1 Timothy 2:1-4 #161
Let's explore the powerful scripture of 1 Timothy 2:1-4, as we engage in a peaceful practice of breathing and muscle relaxation exercises to invite God's presence into our hearts. This passage inspires us to worship with gladness, pray for our leaders, and reflect on God's ultimate sovereignty over the world. We promise you'll gain deeper insight into trusting God's plan and placing your faith above human efforts.
Throughout the episode, we'll pose thought-provoking questions that challenge you to examine your spiritual journey: Have you truly prayed for our leaders? Do you trust God's control over current events? These reflections guide us into a space of spiritual growth, where we embrace the affirmation that God, the creator of the universe, is in charge, and we can trust Him fully. As you walk away from this meditation, carry the confidence of being a cherished child of God, basking in His ever-present love and guidance. Thank you for joining us on this journey towards spiritual enlightenment and trust in divine providence.

Welcome to this week's guided Christian meditation. Today's meditation is titled Prayer for Our Country. Our scripture is from 1 Timothy 2, verses 1-4. But first, proper worship of God requires us to be completely involved and free from sin in mind, body and spirit.
Pastor Robert Young:Let's prepare our hearts by repenting of any known sin that might be in our lives.
Pastor Robert Young:Now we can enter into worship of our Heavenly Father by focusing on Psalms 100, verses 1-3, where it tells us to shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness, come before him with joyful songs.
Pastor Robert Young:Take a moment to lift up your voice in praise and thanksgiving to our Heavenly Father, who is worthy of all honor and glory.
Pastor Robert Young:Before we start to reflect on 1 Timothy 2, verses 1-4, let's prepare our mind by closing our eyes and taking a few deep breaths as we invite the presence of God to fill us. Now take a few deep breaths in for a count of seven. Hold the breath for a count of five and slowly exhale for a count of seven. Repeat the

This verse reminds us that, no matter who is in charge, that God is ultimately in charge and that God, as the scripture says, has the heart of the king in his hand and can change it any way he desires. We in America are not under a king, but under a president, so we should pray for our leaders, whether we like or voted for that leader or not.
Pastor Robert Young:It's important to notice that it was the Roman government that ruled Israel at the time Paul wrote this letter. Yet Paul tells them to pray for not only the religious leaders of Israel, but for the heads of the ruling government, again knowing that God can change the heart of any leader if God so desires. Let's take two minutes to reflect on the following questions 1. Have I prayed for the presidential candidate's heart to be more Christ-like? 2. Do I really believe that God is ultimately in charge of events happening now? 3. Do I trust God more or human effort?
Speaker 2:Thank you, thank you for watching, thank you.
Pastor Robert Young:Repeat the following affirmation, now and for the next seven days God, the creator of the universe, my Lord, is in charge of everything, and I will trust him. Is in charge of everything and I will trust Him Again. God, the creator of the universe, my Lord, is in charge of. Until it becomes permanent in your spirit. And know that God can change the heart of any person if he so desires. If he so desires, walk in spiritual confidence that you are one of God's children and all the loving benefits that come with that designation are available to you. Amen, thank you, you.
