Pastor Robert Young:

Welcome to this week's Guided Christian Meditation. Today's meditation is titled Prayer for Healing of the Land. Our scripture is from 2 Chronicles 7, verse 14.

Pastor Robert Young:

Proper worship of God requires us to be completely involved and free from sin in mind, body and spirit. Let's prepare our hearts by repenting of any known sin that might be in our lives.

Pastor Robert Young:

Now we can enter into worship of our Heavenly Father by focusing on Psalms 100, verses 1-3, where it tells us to shout for joy to the Lord. All the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness, come before Him with joyful songs. Take a moment to lift up your voice in praise and thanksgiving to our Heavenly Father, who is worthy of all honor.

Pastor Robert Young:

Before we start to reflect on the book of 2 Chronicles 7, verse 14, let's prepare our minds by closing our eyes and taking a few deep breaths, as we invite the presence of God to fill us. Let's take a few deep breaths in for a count of seven, hold the breath for a count of five and slowly exhale for a count of seven. Repeat this exercise.

Pastor Robert Young:

Now let's prepare our body with muscle relaxation exercises. We will simply tense each muscle group for three seconds and then release the muscle. As always. Don't hold your breath for this portion of the meditation. Let's begin with the calf muscles Lightly tense the calf muscles for a count of three, now release. Moving upward to the hamstrings, quads, glutes and abdominal muscles Lightly tense for three seconds, now release. Finally, moving to the arms and the shoulders Lightly tense these muscle groups for three seconds, now release.

Pastor Robert Young:

Now that we've prepared our mind, our bodies and our spirit, let's begin to think about the book of 2 Chronicles, 7, verse 14, where it says: If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Pastor Robert Young:

This passage talks about God's people being led by King Solomon dedicating the temple to God. God made a covenant with Solomon that if the people experience great turmoil in the land as a result of God sending this turmoil, they must simply humble themselves and pray. If they would call out to God for deliverance not man, but God, then God would hear their repentful prayers and heal their land.

Pastor Robert Young:

The covenant God made with Solomon applies to us today. After all, by faith, we are also God's children. One of the key points to ponder is the practice of depending on God and not just on human intervention or intellect. TMinute to really check our behaviors about the following questions and one minute to listen intently to the prompting from God as he speaks to our hearts.

Pastor Robert Young:

The questions are on

Pastor Robert Young:

1do I consult God about decisions in my life?

Pastor Robert Young:

Tw why should I consult God first in my decisions

Pastor Robert Young:

Thank you, thank you Repeat the following affirmations, now and for the next seven days I know that God has the best plan for my life and I will consult him first. Plan for my life, and I will consult him first. Again, I know that God has the best plan for my life and I will consult him first. Now, imagine your life being exactly what God, the Father, wants it to be. Imagine being free from unrealistic expectations from the world, or even from yourself.

Pastor Robert Young:

This week's assignment Listen to this meditation daily until it becomes permanent in your spirit and know that God is ready to heal your land as you continue to acknowledge his everlasting love for you through his son Jesus Christ. Amen.
