Send us a text

Can you imagine a world where peace reigns supreme, untouched by the chaos of our modern lives? Join me, Pastor Robert Young, as we embark on a profound spiritual journey through this week's guided Christian meditation, "The Prince of Peace is Born." Through the timeless words of Isaiah 9:6, we'll explore the promises embedded in the birth of Christ and envision His eventual return to rule with peace and love. This episode offers a sanctuary from the hustle of the season, encouraging us to focus on the divine and the eternal amidst the noise.

Together, we'll engage in intentional breathing and muscle relaxation exercises to prepare our hearts, minds, and bodies for worship. As we meditate, thought-provoking questions guide us to reflect on how worldly chaos and holiday consumerism might cloud our vision of the true reason for the season. With affirmations to anchor our spirits and an assignment to immerse ourselves in this meditation daily, we anchor ourselves in joyful anticipation of God's fulfilled promises. Let’s celebrate the birth of our Savior and anticipate His glorious return, finding peace and purpose in His divine plan.

Pastor Robert Young:

Hi friends, this is Pastor Young. I want to remind you of the 30-day meditation journal that's available by clicking the links in the description box below. You can also receive a copy of Evelyn Jenkins' book, Hiram the Camel's Telling of the Nativity. This is a great book that you can read to your children or grandchildren this Christmas. Both items are, of course, free and available in the description box below.

Pastor Robert Young:

Hi friends, and welcome to this week's guided Christian meditation. I am your host, pastor Robert Young, and thank you for allowing me to be your guide on this journey.

Pastor Robert Young:

Today's meditation is entitled the Prince of Peace is Born. Our scripture is from Isaiah, chapter 9, verse 6. But first, proper worship of God requires us to be completely involved and free from sin in mind, body and spirit. Let's prepare our hearts by asking God to forgive us of sin that might be in our lives.

Pastor Robert Young:

Before we start to reflect on Isaiah, chapter 9, verse 6, let's prepare our mind by closing our eyes and taking a deep breath as we invite the presence of God to fill us. Now take a deep breath in for a count of seven. Hold the breath for a count of five and slowly exhale for a count of seven. Repeat the exercise.

Pastor Robert Young:

Now let's prepare our body with muscle relaxation exercises. We will simply tense each muscle group for three seconds and then release the muscle. Remember, don't hold your breath for this portion of the meditation. Let's begin with the calf muscles. Lightly tense the calves for a count of three, now release. Moving upward to the hamstrings, quads and glutes, Lightly tense for three seconds, now release. Moving to the abdominals, chest and back area Lightly tense for three seconds, now release. Finally, moving to the arms and shoulders, lightly tense these muscle groups for three seconds, now release.

Pastor Robert Young:

We can begin to enter into worship of our Heavenly Father by focusing on the book of Psalms, chapter 100, verses 1 through 3, where it tells us to shout for joy to the Lord all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness, come before him with joyful songs. Take a moment to lift up your voice in praise and thanksgiving to our Heavenly Father, who is worthy of all honor and glory.

Pastor Robert Young:

Now that we have prepared our minds, our body and our spirit, let's begin to meditate on Isaiah, chapter 9, verse 6, where it says< For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders and he will be called Wonderful Counselor, mighty God, everlasting Father, prince of Peace.

Pastor Robert Young:

This passage, and over 40 others from the Old Testament, talks about the birth of Christ the Savior and his eventual return to rule the earth for a thousand years to fulfill promises. It is not, as some might suggest, just a symbol of hope and anticipation, but it is a divine promise that started with the birth of Jesus Christ.

Pastor Robert Young:

As we celebrate Christ's birth, we eagerly await his triumphant return to fulfill all of God's promises of peace and freedom from sin and disease.

Pastor Robert Young:

Let's take one minute to reflect on the following questions. The questions are: one has the chaos of this world clouded my vision of the hope that is in Christ?

Pastor Robert Young:

2. Have I allowed the hectic consumerism of the season to cloud my thinking of the real reason for the season

Pastor Robert Young:

you, thank, you Thank you Repeat the following affirmations, now and for the next seven days Jesus is the reason for the season. Again, jesus is the reason for the season. Imagine the world, the whole world, even the animals and nature itself, being at peace and Jesus reigning over all of creation. Imagine the joy and fulfillment of your soul. Our assignment for this week. Our assignment for this week listen to this meditation daily until it becomes permanent in your spirit. Find other references to the coming of Jesus being foretold and rest in the joyful anticipation of knowing that God fulfills his promises. Amen, you.
