“You are mistaken” is not an insult from Jesus, it’s a rescue line. We sit with Matthew 22:29 and let it do its work: exposing the subtle ways we can misread Scripture, underestimate the power of God, and end up living with beliefs that burden people instead of blessing them.

We look at two very different religious mistakes Jesus confronts. The Sadducees deny the resurrection, cutting off the possibility that God can bring new life where we only see endings. The Pharisees stack heavy traditions on top of God’s law, turning faith into pressure and performance. Jesus doesn’t chase debate for sport; he corrects them because theology shapes lives, and distorted views of God always spill into how people are treated.

Then we return to what Jesus reveals about God’s true heart: God is powerful, God is alive, God is near. That simple trio becomes a reset for anxious faith, dry religion, and cynicism. You’ll also get a short guided reflection question and a closing prayer that asks God to correct misunderstandings and align our beliefs with his heart. Subscribe, share this with a friend who needs clarity, and leave a review if it helped. What is one belief you want Jesus to correct?

Scripture Reading And Warning

Pastor Robert Young

Today's scriptural thought is coming from the book of Matthew, chapter twenty-two, verse twenty-nine. You are mistaken, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.

Two Groups Get God Wrong

Pastor Robert Young

The Sadducees denied the resurrection. The Pharisees added heavy traditions to God's law.

Theology That Hurts People

Pastor Robert Young

Jesus corrected both groups because their theology hurts people. He wasn't arguing for the sake of debate. He was revealing the true heart of God.

God Is Powerful Alive Near

Pastor Robert Young

God is powerful. God is alive. God is near. God is not the God of the dead, but of the living. Jesus corrected their misunderstandings so people could see God clearly.

Three-Minute Guided Reflection

Pastor Robert Young

Let's take three minutes to reflect on the following question. Where might Jesus be inviting you to see God more accurately?

Affirmation For Clearer Faith

Pastor Robert Young

Jesus reveals the true heart of God, and I receive his clarity. Again, Jesus reveals the true heart of God, and I receive his clarity.

Closing Prayer For Correction

Pastor Robert Young

Our closing prayer. Dear Lord, correct my misunderstandings. Show me who you truly are. Let my beliefs reflect your heart. For Christ's sake, Amen.
